How Tor works?

Using Tor-Proxy in Browser
  1. Open a Web browser and go to https://www.tor-proxy.net.

  2. Enter the website's URL in the blank under "Surf Anonymous Now with tor-proxy.net-Express [BETA]" on the right-hand rail of the website. 3

  3. Hit return, and the site will appear in a new window. There should be blue band across the top of the webpage, where other URLs can be entered.

  4. Using the Tor-Proxy Toolbar

1 Open Firefox and go to "https://www.addons.mozilla.org. Search for the Tor-Proxy toolbar and download it.

    2 Restart Firefox.

3 Enter the URL of the website to be visited in the new toolbar, which should appear under the main address bar and will have an image of an eye next to it. When entering URLs, do not include the prefix "http://." The Tor-Proxy toolbar automatically puts the prefix in front of whatever is entered into it. Just use "websitename.com" or "www.websitename.com."

Tips & Warnings

  • Using a proxy server does not automatically guarantee anonymity on the Web. Running Javascript and Flash will expose your real IP address even if a proxy is being used
